Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Manufacturing & Assembly Lines - Warwickshire

Joining them as a senior mechanical engineer you will technically lead the design, development and delivery of industrial machinery and new manufacturing methods for the build and assembly of power electronics, motors, drives and batteries on a project basis. This will include innovative new engineering research around technology / manufacturing readiness levels 3+ including the identification, technical specification and delivery of new and novel technology.

This varied role will see you in a customer facing position, technically leading key projects. This will require involvement in all aspects of the project delivery including but not restricted to concept generation, detailed design, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, technical support of commissioning, awareness of project budget and deliverables.

To carry out this key role they are seeking a degree educated engineer with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree educated in an engineering subject such as mechanical, mechatronics or systems engineering
  • A proven track record in industry working on the development of new manufacturing machinery and methods for the build and assembly of power electronics, drives, motors, or battery’s
  • Experienced leading and co-ordinating large projects and programmes and able to technically lead a project team.
  • A track record of design using 3D software to create design concepts and fully dimensional drawings
  • An appreciation of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world applications
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with FMEA and able to interpret CAE studies to propose design improvements and solutions.
