Head of QHSE - Warwickshire

Joining as the Head of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental you will report directly to the Operations Director and be responsible for managing the QHSE department through 3 direct reports the Manufacturing Quality Manager, Business Systems Manager and the H&S Manager.

Your departments are responsible for formulating, implementing, monitoring and improving all policies related to the management of QHSE across the organisation. This will include monitoring national and international legislation and regulatory changes that may impact the business as well as guiding and organising audits and improvement projects. Your role will have a stronger bias towards Quality and compliance responsibilities with HSE accounting for a smaller proportion of your focus.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Gain and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications
  • Ensuring the quality of supplied components, the production process, its supporting processes and the end product both internally and with suppliers
  • Maintaining and improving the organisations environmental performance including compliance with all legislative requirements.
  • Assist operational managers with the development of safe working practices, identifying opportunities to reduce risk, providing training where required and offering guidance on all QHSE matters.
  • Hands on support when required across the QHSE function, this may include investigations, meetings, audits and provision of training
  • Carry out assessments such as Significant risk, COSHH and DSE
  • Production of QHSE reports alongside statistical information related to QHSE performance
  • Organise and carry out product checks, evaluating and providing feedback to suppliers and contractors in relation to QHSE
  • Provide leadership to your department, coaching, mentoring and developing your direct reports.
  • Support effective business communication through advice, leadership and direct contribution to management and team meetings
  • Overall responsibly for the Company disaster recovery plan.

To carry out this role they are seeking an experienced QHSE professional who has a proven track record working within a multi-site multidiscipline, manufacturing organisation. Experience in management is also required as is a recognised H&S qualification such as your NEBOSH diploma. You must also be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
