Field Service Engineer - Advanced Microscopy - Field Based

This role comes to market from a global business and leading manufacturer of test and measurement solutions for use in multiple industries including the Life Science, Healthcare and Research industries.  Their constant research and innovation mean that they have been able to stay at the forefront of the market and gives you the chance to join amidst a number of new product releases.

Joining them as a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and preventative Maintenance of Advanced Microscopes at customer premises. A national role you will be field based and travelling to different customer sites daily with some requirement for overnight stays up to 2-3 days a week on average. There will be occasional European travel for training and to support EU customers, but this will be no more than 10% of your role.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Installation and Commissioning of Advanced Microscopy products at customer site
  • Project manage the installations from delivery through to full application and use of the equipment
  • Introduce end users to the hardware and software
  • Promote the sale of additional service contracts
  • Provide post-sales support for products and act as the first point of contact for customers with technical application questions
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits on schedule

To carry out this field-based role they are seeking an engineer with a strong technical/scientific background and proven track record with microscopy equipment. Previous field-based experience will be highly beneficial. Its key that you are able to understand and engage with complex technical systems, relaying technical information to customers and understanding how they can be applied to help customers achieve their goals.

A full UK driving license is essential as is the ability to easily commute to cities including London, Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester.
